TUB-TU “Urban Design” Dual Master Certificate Awarding Ceremony

The first certificate awarding ceremony of Technical University Berlin (TUB) and Tongji University (TU) “Urban Design” dual master degree program and the opening ceremony of the third joint training program were grandly held in TUB on Oct 13rd.

Dean Prof. Dr. WU Zhiqiang lectured at Technical University Berlin

Dean Prof. WU Zhiqiang gave a lecture at Technical University Berlin on Oct.13rd. He introduced the research of “Eco-City”, “Green-Building” and other disciplines of CAUP at Tongji University, and presented some relevant works of Expo.

2008 National Academic Conference for Ph.D Students

2008 National Academic Conference for Ph.D Students (Architecture, Urban Planning) was held at the Bell Hall on Oct. 14th. Prof. LI Yongsheng, Vice President of Tongji University, Prof. DAI Fudong, the Academician of the China Academy of Engineering, with other professors and Ph.D students attended the conference.

Prof. Wan Gang visited TU Berlin

Prof. Wan Gang the former President of Tongji University, the Minister of Science and Technology was granted the Honorable Doctor Degree of TU Berlin on Oct.13rd in TU Berlin.

Prof. Umberto.Cugini and Monica.bordegoni from Politecnico di Milano had a meeting with the teachers and students of CAUP at C1 Room on Oct.13rd.

International Accreditation Advisory Members visit teaching and research facilities of CAUP Tongji.

Accompanied by Dean Prof. WU Zhiqiang, advisory members visited the excellent Alumni Exhibition, the library, training center and other facilities of CAUP on Sep. 25th.

Guests from Architectural faculty of UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona) paid a visit to our faculty in the afternoon on June 10th. Ferran Sagarra, the dean of the faculty, Karin Hofert, the vice dean, and Garcia de Blanco, the official of Foreign Affairs department met and talked with Prof. Li Zhenyu, our vice dean, Li Xiangning, the assistant dean, and Prof. Sha Yongjie. Guests also gave lectures in ZhongTing Auditorium on Studies in Architectural faculty of UPC and The City development in Barcelona that evening (Wang Jinjin).

Shocked and saddened by the news on earthquake, Dean Prof. Dr. WU Zhiqiang appeals to all the faculty members in CAUP for their last all-out effort to help people in quake battered areas. Dean WU also expressed his aspiration to fly to those quake-hit areas to do the design and planning with professors and experts in CAUP after the initial rescue.

Vice Dean Prof. Dr. LI Zhenyu and the Director of International Collaboration Office of CAUP received the Head Academic Marketing Ms. Anders Hagstrom and Dr. Margrit Leuthold on strategic planning from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, as well as the ETH China Representative Ms. Lan Zuo Gillet on May 12th.

Dean Prof. Dr. WU Zhiqiang and Prof. Mei Qing from Architecture Department welcomed a delegation from Ryerson University (Toronto) on May 6th. Dean WU who is also the Chief Planner for Expo 2010 presented his ideas and ideals of Expo Planning.

Dean Prof. Dr. WU Zhiqiang, Assistant Dean Associate Prof. LI Xiangning and other members from Architecture Department received the Dean of School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Prof. Alan Balfour and associate Prof. Gustavo Crembil on April 28th.

The Deputy Director Guo Qiang of International Collaboration and Exchange Office at Tongji University, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. LI Zhenyu of CAUP, Assistant Dean Associate Prof. LI Xiangning received a delegation of architecture students from California Polytechnic State University (San Luis) on April 29th.

Dean Prof. Dr. WU Zhiqiang who is also the Chief Planner gave a speech to a NGO delegation Roots and Shoots on April 25th.
